Home is a word that holds different meanings for different people. For some, it's a physical place where they grew up or where their family lives. For others, it's a feeling of belonging or a sense of community.
The team at EmPATHy created a video where team members shared their personal thoughts on what home means to them. Through this video, we hope to show the diversity of perspectives and experiences that make up our team, and to demonstrate the importance of creating a sense of home for all individuals, particularly for youth refugees.
One team member shared that for them, home is where their family is, and the feeling of safety and security they have with them. Another member shared that home is a place of acceptance and belonging, where they feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment.
A youth refugee member talked about how for them, home is not a physical place, but a sense of community and connection with others who understand their experiences and struggles. They shared that EmPATHy has become a home for them, a place where they can feel supported and valued.
One member shared that home is the place where they can express themselves freely and creatively, and where they can pursue their passions and dreams.
Through this video, we hope to start a conversation about what home means to different individuals and how it can be created for everyone. We believe that creating a sense of home is essential for the well-being and success of youth refugees, and we are committed to working towards this goal through EmPATHy.
You can watch the video "What is Home" on EmPATHy website, or on our social media channels, and share your thoughts on what home means to you. We are eager to hear from you and to continue this conversation about the importance of creating a sense of home for all individuals.
